Goverdhan (Uttar Pradesh): Hundreds of thousands of devotees from around the country come to the holy town of Goverdhan to begin the annual 21-km parikrama (circumambulation) around the hill that Lord Krishna, as a child, is believed to have lifted on his little finger to protect his faithful from the wrath of Lord Indra, the Hindu god of rain.

 

The Goverdhan Parbat is a narrow sandstone hill called Giriraj, about eight kilometres long. When Chaitanya Mahaprabhu performed the parikrama during his visit to Vrindavan early in the 16th century, he did not climb the Goverdhan Parbat, saying it was lord Krishna himself in the form of the hill. Followers of Gaudiya Vaishnav community follow the tradition and celebrate Mudiya Poonau as Guru Poornima. The five-day fair will climax on full moon night

गोवर्धन (उत्तर प्रदेश): देश भर से हजारों श्रद्धालु, हर वर्ष, 21 किलोमीटर परिक्रमा शुरू करने के लिए गोवर्धन के पवित्र शहर में आते हैं. यह परिक्रमा एक पवित्र पर्वत के चारों ओर की जाती है. यह माना जाता है की भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने बचपन मैं यह पर्वत अपनी छोटी उंगली पर उठा लिया था ताकि वो अपने श्रधालुओं को भगवान इंद्रा, के प्रकोप से बचा सकें.

गोवर्धन पर्वत एक संकीर्ण अकेला खड़ा पर्वत है जो की 8 किलोमीटर लंबा है. इसे गिरिराज के नाम से भी जाना जाता है. चैतन्य महाप्रभु ने 16 वीं सदी में वृंदावन की यात्रा के दौरान इस पर्वत की परिक्रमा की. वह इस पहाड़ी पर यह कह कर नही चढ़े की श्री कृष्ण स्वयं इस पहाड़ी के रूप मैं यहाँ खड़े हैं. गौड़ीय वैष्णव समुदाय के अनुयायी एक परंपरा का पालन करते हैं और मुडिया पूर्णिमा को गुरु पूर्णिमा के रूप में मानते हैं. पांच दिवसीय मेले पूर्णिमा की रात को चरमोत्कर्ष जाएगा.
How To Reach

  • By Air: The nearest airport is Agra, at a distance of 47 kms. There are regular flights from Agra to several cities of India.
  • By Rail: The nearest railway station is Mathura, at a distance of 27 kms from Jatipura, (Girirajji), (Govardhan). Mathura is well connected by train with Agra (1 hour) and Delhi (2 hours). Mathura is an important railway junction with direct trains to many places regularly.
  • By Road: Mathura is very well connected by a network of roads and road transport to all major towns of Uttar Pradesh and surrounding areas. Mathura is 141 kms south of Delhi and 47 kms northwest of Agra.

  • हवा से: निकटतम हवाई अड्डा 47 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर, आगरा में स्थित है. भारत के कई शहरों के लिए आगरा से नियमित उड़ानें हैं.
  • रेल द्वारा: निकटतम रेलवे स्टेशन जतीपुरा, (गिरिराज जी), (गोवर्धन) से 27 किलोमीटर की दूरी पर, मथुरा में स्थित है. मथुरा से आगरा (1 घंटा) और दिल्ली (2 घंटे) के साथ ट्रेन से अच्छी तरह से जुड़ा हुआ है. मथुरा से नियमित रूप में कई स्थानों के लिए सीधी गाड़ियों हैं. मथुरा एक महत्वपूर्ण रेलवे जंक्शन भी है.
  • सड़क मार्ग से: मथुरा सड़कों का नेटवर और सड़क परिवहन के माध्यम से उत्तर प्रदेश और आसपास के क्षेत्रों के सभी प्रमुख शहरों से बहुत अच्छी तरह से जुड़ा हुआ है. मथुरा दक्षिण दिल्ली के 141 किलोमीटर दूर और आगरा के उत्तर पश्चिम में 47 किलोमीटर दूर है.
Places To Visit

  • Kusum Sarovar: Kusuma Sarovara, a beautiful sandstone monument, is a 25-minute walk from Radha Kunda. Kusuma means “flower,” and here the gopis would pick flowers for Krishna. Kusuma Sarovara is the best swimming spot in Braja.
  • Mansi Ganga: At the middle of the Govardhan village, the Manasi Ganga is situated. After Lord Krishna killed Vatsasura, His friends told Him to bathe in the waters of Ganga for purification. Unwilling to travel a long distance, Krishna brought Manasi Ganga here and took bath in it.
  • Daan-Ghati Mandir: Daan-Ghati is one of the two main temple structures in Goverdhan, near Mathura, India. The other temple structure is called Dasvisa. Daan Ghati is a temple where the deity is actually in the form of a rock.

स्थानों की यात्रा

  • कुसुम सरोवर: कुसुम सरोवर, एक सुंदर बलुआ पत्थर की इमारत, राधा कुण्ड से 25 मिनट की पैदल दूरी पर है. कुसुम का मतलब है "फूल" और यहाँ से गोपियों श्री कृष्ण के लिए फूल ले जाया करती थी. कुसुम सरोवर, ब्रज में सबसे अच्छा तैराकी स्थल है.
  • मानसी गंगा: गोवर्धन गांव के मध्य में, मानसी गंगा स्थित है. वतसासुर मारे जाने के बाद,भगवान कृष्ण के दोस्तों ने उन्हें शुद्धि के लिए गंगा के जल में स्नान करने के लिए कहा था. वह एक लंबी दूरी की यात्रा करने के लिए तैयार नहीं थे. श्री कृष्णा यहां मानसी गंगा लाए और उस में स्नान किया.
  • दान-घाटी मंदिर: दान-घाटी मथुरा, भारत के पास गोवर्धन में दो मुख्य मंदिर संरचनाओं में से एक है. अन्य मंदिर संरचना दस्वीया कहा जाता है. दान घाटी एक मंदिर है जहाँ देवता एक चट्टान के रूप में वास्तव में है.
